Kosher is primarily a religious tenet relating to dietary restrictions, but can also encompass any way of conducting oneself. Usually this involves not eating traif, which includes pork, shellfish, meat with milk, etc. It's pop-culture usage however has expanded to include anything that is consider "good", "cool" or "legitimate".
